Lynda Gerdin Webb

Lynda Gerdin Webb, who studied fiction with Raymond Carver, received an MA from the University of Texas at El Paso. Her published works included fiction and poetry featured in About Place Journal, Flora Fiction, Persimmon Tree, South Shore Review, and Big Bend Literary Magazine, Beach Chair Press, Dos Gatos Press, and Central Texas Writer’s Society.

She has experience working in many fields—from a dishwasher in the kitchen in college, to the garbage queen of West Texas—setting up recycling programs. Helping trafficked and exploited women begin anew through education made her academic job the most fulfilling.

She's always been a reader, captivated by interesting stories. Her  gift while teaching at a community college was connecting students to stories and authors beyond the ordinary required Freshman reading. She found it thrilling to witness her students’ personal revelations as they explored the characters’ lives.
